Learn how to star important emails to mark important emails so that you can see them later

Open Gmail. From the inbox, click star to the left of the message as shown below.

If the email is open, click on Star on top right corner as shown below.

Stars of different colours or different icons can be used to star the messages. To do this, open Gmail. Go to Settings on top right corner. Click All Settings.

Under General tab, scroll down to the Star section as shown below. Drag the coloured Star or icon from Not in use and drop In use as portrayed in the

screenshot below.

At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.

Search for starred messages in your inbox

Open Gmail. On the left side of the page, click Starred.

If you cannot find Starred, click More.

You will get all the starred messages.

You can also find the starred messages using search operators.

If you want to find all the starred messages, type is:starred in the search field as shown below.

You will find all the starred messages. If you want to find starred messages of particular colour or icon, type has: star name. A list of star-names available in Gmail is provided for your convenience.
