Learn how to organize the gmail inbox by using the feature turn on inbox categories
The gmail inbox is organized using the feature inbox categories. With inbox categories, Gmail will automatically sort your emails into different categories, such as promotions, social media updates.
Turn on the inbox categories
The different categories will appear as tabs in inbox page.
Open Gmail. Click Settings at the top right corner.
The Settings window will open.
Under Inbox type, select Default to get tabs for sorting emails of different types
like promotions, Social, etc.
The Customize window appears.
In order to sort the emails into different categories, select the box next to each category.
For example, if you want to sort the emails from social media websites like facebook,
linkedin or online media sharing sites check the box next to Social, as shown below.
The Social tab will appear on top of your inbox page.
If you want the starred messages to be sorted under Primary tab, click the box next to
Include Starred in Primary.
The Primary tab is enabled by default, as can be seen below.
Click Save to save the changes.
